Tina's Blog

Hi, I’m Tina Chisnell; welcome to my blog. If you are a prospective client please take a moment to browse through the showcase pages for examples of my portrait photography.

I like to think of this blog as my virtual scrap book; it’s the place where I keep the other photos and stories I collect as I go about my days, building my business around my passion.

Not so hidden beauty

When I'm out with my children, I'm rarely aware of the beauty of my surroundings. More often I'm thinking: I hope I've packed enough snacks, I wonder where the nearest toilet is, brown-eyed-boy is riding a little too close to the kerb, I should have put gloves on McSmiley...the list goes on but I think you get the idea. So, it's nice to take a walk with my dog and take time to see the beauty surrounding me, observe my own breath and give thanks for the present moment.

I'm not going to pretend I notice anything profound or unusual, just the red, amber and green leaves on the trees, the sound of water gliding across the pebbles, wisps of cotton wool wandering across the morning sky with the sunlight driving its way through forming shimmering trails. It makes me smile; it clears my head and makes me feel lucky and happy to be alive.

So if you're feeling rushed, stressed or like your mind is full of unfinished thoughts, I encourage you to take a walk and absorb the beauty of your surroundings for a few minutes; your mind will thank you for it.
